Hosted by the Central Museum of Textiles in Łódź, the Triennial invites artists who draw inspiration from textiles as a medium, context, or form to submit their work. Artists interested in participating can find submission details on the Triennial section of www.cmwl.pl.

4. PHOTOSA (The Biennale Photography of Ouagadougou)

Location : Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) | Duration : November 2025 | Deadline to apply : 20th JANUARY 2025

The Ouagadougou Photography Biennale will return in Burkina Faso in November 2025 with the theme “(R)evolution.” Organized by CERPHOB, this edition will bring author photography into neighborhoods with exhibitions extended to family private courtyards and public spaces. It will also provide training opportunities and a platform for Burkinabè, African, and international photographers. A key feature this year is the introduction of a mobile exhibition hall, designed to extend the visibility of the works beyond the festival.

The call for submissions is open to professional photographers interested in exploring the theme “(R)evolution” and its focus on the transformations of our time.

Submissions must be sent by January 20, 2025. Participation is open to all, with a particular emphasis on encouraging Burkinabè, African, and women photographers to apply. Selected artists will receive royalties for their exhibited works.

5. Musée du Quai Branly - Jacques Chirac’s Sound Residency

Location : Paris, Le Fresnoy (France) | Duration : Sept/March 2026 | Deadline to apply : 12th JANUARY 2025

The Musée du quai Branly – Jacques Chirac has announced its call for applications for the Sound Art Residency program. This residency is exclusively open to artists from the four continents represented in the museum's collections: Africa, Asia, Oceania, and the Americas. There is no age limit for applicants. The program provides funding for the creation of a sound-based work that could be integrated into the museum's collections. While the resulting work may stem from a transdisciplinary artistic practice and is not required to be purely sound-based, it must be primarily conceived using sound material. This includes any form of sound, such as music, spoken or sung voices, and ambient sounds. The jury will prioritize works that demonstrate a strong connection to the museum's collections, themes, or interests. The selected artist will receive a fixed grant of €8,000 (excluding tax, including copyright fees). Apply here.
