Natural alchemist, Pitsho MAFOLO shares some of the meaning behind the use of specific colours and shapes in his paintings along with his plea for the expansion of the Congolese art scene. JULIAN KNXX - on Black Corporeal and navigating Space(s)
There is a lingering feeling of intimacy when entering the world of Julian Knxx. In Black Corporeal, the artist specifically addresses the experience of black bodies navigating space(s), pass the limitations of the mind and external expectations. This resonates at length with his own experience. Now aged 34, the London-based artist takes us through his work and leaves some valuable pieces of advice. Our thoughts are the main designer of our trajectory in life and one should trust themselves into being authentic.
Jennifer SIVI, is bold and outspoken and shares her thoughts and story in this original interview. Navigating the contemporary arts market as an independent artist, is a bold move, and she did it. the Franco-Congolese self-taught artist paints Congo out of her imagination, recollection of travels memories and pictures. Through her work she ought to share the experience of the women she depicts but also her own experience as a woman navigating the art world.
